Terramar is on a quiet residential street and the 5 freeway is less that 2 minutes away for easy access to anywhere in the area. The beach is 2 blocks away and is an easy walk from the house.
The area is best accessed by private car but ridesharing services are active in the area if you'd prefer to come without a car.
There are train tracks about a block away from the home. Guests will hear the train during their stay. This property is professionally managed by Haustay Vacation Rentals. Quiet hours outdoors start at 9PM. No parties are allowed. No smoking or vaping on the property. Pets permitted with a non-refundable pet fee of $150 (two dogs max, no cats).
Pack ’n Play setup available as an add-on for $35 + tax, or upgrade to the Pack ’n Play + High Chair setup for $55 + tax.

This was the perfect place to stay for our group of 4! It had everything we needed and then some! I would definitely recommend staying here, it was a short walk to the beach and a car ride away from Carlsbad Village. The only nitpicky thing was there were quite a few bugs by the front door and the atrium including black widows, roaches, and some wasp nests, so if you have a pet just be careful! That was our only complaint, everything else was perfect and the hosts were amazing and very communicative!

This home was so cute and an amazing location when it came to downtown Carlsbad and the beach. Once we got settled, we loved it. I'd say the biggest things to consider would be the fact that the train is right there and runs all night (but they provide sound machines in the rooms which is super thoughtful) and the master bed is not the comfiest. We did get used to the train but the first night was an adjustment. Overall a nice place and would be completely worth the money with the exception of the master bed.

This beautiful beach house in Carlsbad was the perfect place for our group to stay for a Legoland weekend. there are a ton of restaurants within 5 minute driving distance and the beach is a short walk away. We had minor issues with older screen doors and the fridge started leaking, but Haustay Rentals were communicative and helpful over the phone. Thank you!

We spent 3 days at this location and really enjoyed the accommodations! Our dog loved the yard and we enjoyed the personal touches in the house that made it feel homey and unique. You can tell they put effort into decorating to complement the natural character of the house which we appreciated. The host was responsive and communication was quick and effective. We did regularly hear the train as mentioned in the add but to be fair we seemed to hear it everywhere in the village and it didn't impact our sleep or scare our dog. This is the second house we've stayed in by this host as we like to visit Carlsbad often and both experiences have great! I highly recommend this place!

Loved this place! House felt spacious and was as described and photographed. Greatly appreciated parking in the garage, having beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels for use, and loved the backyard. So thankful for the comfortable beds, soft sheets, large dining tables, enough seating in the living room... and the atrium was an added bonus! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. We would happily stay at this home again. Location was good, though not quite close enough to downtown to walk for coffee and shopping. Overall, we give this place 5 stars.

Kylee's place was beautifully decorated and soo clean! We enjoyed walks to the ocean and there was a park at the top of the street that my toddler loved playing at daily! Nick was so helpful and got back to us very quickly. Even late at night when we arrived! Such a great experience will definitely be staying here frequently when traveling to SD.

The house is large very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. We loved the gas fireplace in the center of the house and used it everyday during our November stay for warmth as well as ambience. The house is an easy walk to the beach and convenient to accessing the freeway. The only surprise was the nearby train tracks which are still in use.

The house is located in a great easy to reach location. The beach is a must visit while you're there, about a five minute walk down street. You can sit and watch the beautiful sea and rows of surfers trying to catch a wave. You can visit lots of shops in the village. The home has all the amenities to stay in and relax. Enjoyed our stay! Great location and wonderfully decorated. Felt like we were on the west coast in Mexico. Tip: Trains are loud so bring a sound machine if you aren't used to sleeping with high decibel train horns at night :) or especially if you have a young child or baby.

Recommend for families!Nick's place is exactly as stated. It was super close ( walking distance) to the beach and a great little park for kids close by. Our family enjoyed the convenience to Legoland and amenities. Beds were comfortable as well and the house is equipped with baby needs (sound machine, double beds, playpen). We recommend this place for families!

Overall - Loved the house!We loved our stay at this little gem of a house. It was a few blocks from the ocean and perfect if you like to get your daily walk in along the ocean. The kitchen was especially well appointed for cooking. It was very clean and comfortable, quiet and private. Beds were pretty comfortable but better sleeping pillows would have been nice. We will be returning!Nick's house was wonderful. It was clean and quiet (there is a nearby train, but the noise never bothered me and my family). There was plenty of room for me and my husband, my dad, my older brother, and my son. We enjoyed eating all together at their very large table, and relaxing in the living room. They Made Me A Believer!I'm not sure if I was worn out from driving but Nick was extremely patient with my questions. I'm not sure if he ever got annoyed with me because literally almost everything I asked him was already written out with clear instructions and pictures The place looks better than the pictures. The detailed Spanish flare was on point from the art work, décor and down to the coasters! Airbnb stays are typically not my first choice but they've made me a believer!

Great Carlsbad Home!We were so happy to stay here. It was a nice and clean home in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of space to spread out. It was a short 15 minute walk to the beach, and a quick car ride to Downtown Carlsbad for the bars. Slept 6 easily. No A/C as advertised but there are plenty of screen doors to create a cross breeze. The property manager, Nick, was very helpful throughout the process, especially via text message during our stay.

Enjoyable stay!We totally enjoyed our stay here! The beach was an easy walk to and there is a park near by for little ones. Our grandchildren loved going to the park! The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with all the items needed, along with snacks and beverages to greet us. Beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed having a fire place and did use it most mornings. This rental worked out so well for us and we hope it's available the next time we come to Carlsbad.

Beautiful home! We loved staying here, plenty of room for all 4 of us! Master bath shower was amazing. Each room was decorated, and beds were extremely comfy! We cooked 5 meals here and the kitchen was super functional. Any utensil, tool, or small appliance was there for us to use. Even matching placemats, colorful dinnerware, serving dishes, pots and pans, mugs, glasses, and cups galore. Great stay! We had never been to the Carlsbad area and Nick and Elisa were very helpful answering questions and their recommendations were great.
We also left a few things behind including a Go-Pro camera and their team let us know and shipped the items to us.

Amazing location just a few minutes' walk from the beach. Perfect house for our family vacation (6 adults and our 1 year old). Kitchen is well stocked and we were able to make many of our meals at home. There is no AC so we were a little warm in the bedrooms, but the fans helped, and there are lots of doors with screens to get nice air flow in the main spaces. The backyard is beautiful and we enjoyed a few meals out there. Hosts were responsive and accommodating.

Rented this place out from Friday to Sunday. It is about 10 minutes walking distance from the nearest beach (a small one and maybe for just walking on the sand). The place was neat and has a Spanish theme to it. The neighborhood was quiet throughout the time we had stayed. Few things that I wanted to mention is that the binder in the house was outdated when it comes to the numbers to open the garage and the lock for the house key. Also, I was provided with an old code to open the garage, but the hosts gave

Casa TerramarWe truly enjoyed staying at Casa Terramar. The location was exactly as described and it embraced the Spanish style in the decor. Every amenity and detail was considered: from excellent mattresses to games to utilize. The location is also very close to the beach, park and LEGOLAND. My family truly enjoyed visiting all three. There is a train that runs behind the house periodically but it doesn't take away from the house and atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again!

Large place, well maintained, very spacious, has an airy feel to it. Love the Spanish style. Kitchen has the essential tools you'd need for cooking. There's a Keurig machine with coffee pods. There were some snacks on the island table too. AC and heater worked fine. Close to grocery stores, great location, although you can hear the train when it passes by. Beautifully designed home with enjoyable amenities and comfortable furniture, inside and out. The hosts did a great job of intentional and helpful communications before and throughout our stay. The location was convenient for restaurants, freeway and beach nearby. The train noise wasn't a problem for us while sleeping.

This place is beautiful! It was such a treat to spend the weekend here celebrating my husband's birthday with our family! It is close to the ocean, and we took an amazing sunset walk. Hacienda Terramar is a gem! The house is lovely and well-appointed, with decor that makes you feel like you are vacationing in a hacienda in Mexico. The outdoor space (backyard and atrium) were great and often used during our visit. The pass through fireplace is not only an awesome architectural feature but a great way to warm up the common areas.
The beach is ~1/2 mile, ~10-15 minute walk and lots of places to eat were within a short drive (~5-10 minutes).
We only had 4 adults staying there on our trip

Perfect family home for vacationProperty was in older neighborhood and train runs behind property but other than that, home was beautiful and well stocked. Nice yard and easy quick walk to beach. The house was exactly as described. Close to the freeway and beach, walking distance to a playground, and overall convenient. Having laundry on site was helpful and appreciated. Use of a garage was nice as well. Good communication with the hosts. We would stay here again.

Great Place! We are locals and needed a place to stay for a couple days while we had our house tented. We stayed at the Hacienda for two nights, in the middle of the week. The layout of the house is awesome… And loved the backyard! Everything was super clean and we had a great communication with the host/hostess!
Super great location too… Close to the beach, close to the park, close to lots of fun places to eat and go! It is also close to the train tracks but it didn't bother us or our kids.

Perfect for what we neededExperience was great. We needed something close to Pendleton and Carlsbad Blvd for a friend's retirement ceremonies. This fit the bill. Walking to the beach was a big bonus. Only reason for minus one star on the “location/neighborhood” category, was the neighborhood was filled with copious parked cars along the roads, including encroaching the driveway to the property, one of which was a behemoth RV that obscured the entire view from the front porch. Overall, the home was beautiful, and we enjoyed our stay there. The home was clean, beds were comfortable, and check in and check out was a breeze. I would stay there again. My only concern is that it's behind a railroad track, but thankfully the train isn't running at late at night. Beach nearby made up for it. We were also grateful that the home was kid friendly for our toddler.

This house is located just minutes from Legoland and is convenient if you are visiting Legoland and not staying at the Legoland hotels.
The house itself is well maintained. The interiors and the layout has been carefully planned and well designed. If you choose to stay, the experience won't disappoint you and I am positive you will have a great stay.

Beautiful little home. One of the few Airbnbs that is as nice as it looks in the pictures. The house was furnished with quality furniture and felt very homey. We did have a few loud trains pass by at night but the provided white noise machines helped muffled the noise. Overall we were very pleased with the house and plan on staying there again in the future.

Great LocationThe house in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach and walking trails. It is well kept, clean and has plenty of ocean air breeze as it's close to the beach. If you like to cook there are plenty of supplies. The yard is nice for outdoor meals. Easy and prompt communication with the rental property. It's a short drive to the village, outlet malls etc unless you like long walks.

The water, sheets, and toilet paper are so soft, and the location just couldn't be any better, a couple blocks from the beach, and only a few minute drive to all of our favorite spots to eat, drink, and get coffee. The Home is very well appointed, and spacious. No, we're home. It feels much larger than the square footage shows, the outdoor spaces are also very wonderful.

We absolutely love staying in this Hacienda! We are a family of 8, and this house is our home away from home. The home has everything we need, specially all the important items for our little ones such as: portable crib plus foam mattress, portable highchair, children's utensils, cups and plates, they even had the tub faucet protector to keep them safe during bath time! They are thoughtful hosts and extremely accommodating. We can't wait to stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was a short walk to the beach where the waves were perfect for skim boarding and boogie boarding. The house was fully equipped with beach chairs, boogie boards and beach umbrellas. There was Keurig coffee, which was a morning saver, and everything we needed or possibly could need in the kitchen. Haustay hosts were amazing and answered any questions we had and handled any issue in a very timely manner. We would definitely choose to stay in a Haustay home again!

Glad we stayed!The rental is comfortable, clean and an easy walk to the water for some wonderful ocean views. It's in a quiet neighborhood but yes, you do hear the trains. We used a white noise app on my phone at night and during the day we felt it a pleasant sound. We loved using the fire place in the cool of the morning. The management was quick to respond to any concerns. We would happily rent this location again.

Nick's place is exactly as stated. It was super close ( walking distance) to the beach and a great little park for kids close by. Our family enjoyed the convenience to Legoland and amenities. Nick's place was beautifully decorated and soo clean! We enjoyed walks to the ocean and there was a park at the top of the street that my toddler loved playing at daily! Nick was so helpful and got back to us very quickly. Even late at night when we arrived! Such a great experience will definitely be staying here frequently when traveling to SD.
