Why Consider Selling to Haustay?
You’ve invested years in building your business. Choosing who takes it forward deserves the same care.
You’ve built valuable relationships. Let’s talk about what comes next.
Haustay is interested in acquiring established vacation rental management businesses and portfolios throughout North County San Diego, from Del Mar to Oceanside.
Whether you’re considering retirement, pursuing a new opportunity, or ready to step back from daily operations, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.

An initial conversation comes with no obligation to sell.
You’ve invested years in building your business. Choosing who takes it forward deserves the same care.
Speak directly with Nick and Elisa Foster, the founders of Haustay. We understand the daily responsibilities of running a vacation rental business and the personal decisions involved in moving on.
Founded in Carlsbad and headquartered in Oceanside, Haustay knows the coastal communities your homeowners and guests love. Your portfolio would join an established business with deep roots in North County.
Our team brings together guest services, operations, in-house housekeeping, and maintenance. That infrastructure gives us a practical foundation for welcoming additional homes and supporting their owners.
Whether you’re seeking a full exit, selling part of your portfolio, or interested in a gradual handoff, we’re open to discussing an approach that works for both sides.
We’re looking to connect with vacation rental operators who have established homeowner relationships and properties that fit our North County service area.
Considering selling your vacation rental management company? We’d like to learn about your portfolio, operations, and goals for the next chapter.
You don’t have to sell your entire business to start a conversation. We’re also interested in groups of management accounts, including portfolios owned by operators who want to reduce their workload or focus on another market.
You may want time to introduce a new management team, support your homeowners, and step away in stages. We can explore whether a phased transition makes sense.
Our primary markets: Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside.
Unsure whether your portfolio is a fit? Tell us a little about it. We consider each opportunity individually.
Tell us about your business, the markets you serve, and what you’d like to accomplish. We’ll discuss whether there may be a fit and agree on appropriate confidentiality arrangements before reviewing sensitive information.
If there’s mutual interest, we’ll review your portfolio, management revenue, operating expenses, homeowner agreements, and transition priorities.
We’ll discuss a potential purchase structure, proposed terms, and a realistic timeline. You’ll have the opportunity to review the details with your advisors before deciding how to proceed.
If we reach an agreement and complete due diligence, we’ll coordinate a handoff covering homeowner introductions, existing reservations, property information, and day-to-day operations.

We started Haustay in Carlsbad after managing our own vacation rental and discovering how much thoughtful, hands-on hospitality matters.
Today, Haustay manages approximately 80 coastal vacation homes, supported by an Oceanside headquarters and a team dedicated to guest service, property care, and homeowner relationships.
We know what it takes to answer the late-night call, prepare a home for the next arrival, and earn an owner’s trust over time. If you’re considering selling, we’d welcome the opportunity to learn what you’ve built and what matters most to you in a transition.

No. You may be exploring your options or planning a transition well in advance. An initial conversation can help us understand your goals and whether there may be a fit.
Yes. We consider opportunities individually, including smaller portfolios with established homeowner relationships in our service area.
Potentially. We’re open to discussing select management accounts as well as an entire business.
We would consider management revenue, profitability, property locations, homeowner relationships, agreement terms, and the work involved in a transition. Any proposal would reflect the specifics of your business.
These are important parts of the discussion. Before a transition, we would work through homeowner communications, existing reservations, staffing needs, and property care responsibilities together.
A general overview is enough: your approximate property count, primary markets, and preferred timing. Please leave homeowner names, guest information, and confidential financial documents out of the initial inquiry.
